Stunning cabinet by Oscar Nilsson, made in palisander. Master cabinet maker built. Exquisitely decorated front and sides, with a meander border and classic ornaments. The inlays in the centre of the cabinet shows a fountain, where one can easily imagine the movement of the water. Contrasting black lacquered column legs on a palisander base. Beautiful, discreet ornaments close to the tops of the columns.

Multiple compartments and drawers in the equally exquisite inside. The door in the middle has inlays of a roaring lion. Drawers with root veneer and round brass handles.

This unique cabinet was exhibited at the Swedish Contemporary Decorative Arts fair in The Metropolitan Museum in New York in 1927. The exhibition followed the World Exhibition in Paris in 1925, where the Swedish pavilion had been a huge success. Sweden was invited as a single country to exhibit in New York, something that spurred great interest in Swedish contemporary design and arts and crafts in the United States. The exhibition also included pieces by Anna Petrus, Carl Hörvik, Wilhelm Kåge and Märta Måås-Fjetterström, among others.
