More about the item

The architect Elias Svedberg is known for heading the interior decoration department of NK for many years. He also collaborated with the architect Sven Wallander, who was the founder of HSB, Sweden’s largest cooperative housing company. Sven Wallander designed HSB’s headquarters and assigned Svedberg, who had previously designed furniture for HSB’s housing exhibitions, to design its interior. Svedberg’s designs can be seen in the archive photo, which depicts the headquarter’s lobby ca 1939.
