Pair of “Lilla Kraal” lounge chairs by Kerstin Hörlin-Holmquist, made from wreathed rattan on lacquered metal bases. One of the chairs is mended on the back, see the last image. Seat height ca 40 cm.

The design is inspired by traditional African village enclosures for huts or cattle and was developed during Hörlin-Holmquist’s period of studies at Konstfack. After her graduation, the model was taken into production by NK and included in their “Triva” line. The target group was young people, a new consumer group that was emerging and growing stronger at the time.
