Bentwood “Ax” armchair by Peter Hvidt and Orla Møllgaard Nielsen. The model was designed in 1950 and presented a new way of making furniture. The seat, back and armrests are made from a single sheet of bentwood where the armrests bend forward and the seat backwards. Constructed from beech with ingenious inlays of teak on the sides of the legs. Removable suede seat cover.
